Straight-Track Welding Carriage — ZG Series

Rigid rack track with strong magnetic (or suction) fixing for long, perfectly straight seams on flat plate, box beams and panel lines. Gear drive delivers steady travel from 0 to 1100 mm/min.

Also known as: straight track welding carriage, welding tractor, rail welding carriage, welding travel carriage.

Straight Seams, Zero Wandering.

Strong magnetic adsorption fixes the rack track to the workpiece — position it once and the carriage runs the whole seam with a steady torch angle. Built for long straight seams on carbon steel plate from 3 mm.

  • Carbon steel plate ≥ 3 mm, long straight seams
  • Horizontal, flat, vertical and fillet welding positions
  • Integrated type includes intermittent welding; split type can add it as an option
  • Optional battery power pack for work sites without easy power access
  • Adjustable swing width 0–32 mm and swing angle 0–30°

Values are taken from the product operation manual. Custom configurations — track length, torch fixture, dual-torch setup, expanding-head size — are quoted to your workpiece.

Naming guide: ZG-III-Q1 = straight-track magnetic · "Z" = straight swing, "J" = angle swing · first letter uppercase = integrated type, lowercase = split type.

"/C" magnetic models hold by strong magnets — for carbon steel plate from 3 mm. "/X" vacuum-suction models hold by suction cup — they work on any flat material from 2 mm, including stainless steel and other non-magnetic plates.

FAQ

Questions Engineers Ask About This Machine

What is the difference between the ZG straight-track and the RG flexible-track carriage?
ZG uses a rigid SGR20 precision linear rail with gear drive — it is the long-seam machine for flat plate, panels and box beams, where straightness over several metres matters. RG uses a flexible belt track that follows a curved shell, so it is the choice for tanks and vessels. Many fabricators keep both.
How long a seam can one set of track cover?
Each C-type straight rail is 1960 mm long and weighs 9 kg. Rails join through a quick-connect plate in about 10 seconds each, and can be linked to cover seams of any length — you move the rear rail forward as the carriage passes, so a two-rail set handles an unlimited seam.
Can it weld aluminium or stainless steel?
The magnetic track fixing needs magnetically permeable steel. For stainless or aluminium plate, specify suction-cup fixing instead of magnetic bases; the carriage and oscillator themselves are unaffected by the workpiece material. Confirm your material when requesting a quotation.
Is it compatible with my existing MIG welder?
Yes. The carriage works with your current power source, wire feeder and torch — it takes over the trigger through a two-pin ignition control lead and needs no additional investment in welding equipment. DC 24 V low-voltage operation keeps the carriage itself safe to handle.
What torch sizes does it accept?
The universal torch fixture clamps Ø18–25 mm — equivalent to the nozzle outer diameter of 200 A to 500 A torches. Torch position is adjusted by knob handles, vertically 65 mm and horizontally 90 mm, with ±60° oscillator rotation and ±25° torch travel angle.
